This film shows the way of life and reproduction of the river mussel, which is important for a healthy environment, and explains which factors lead to the endangerment and how the federal state of Hessen wants to counteract it. The film aims to make the hidden life of the river mussel visible and bring us closer to this unique creature.
The last settlement of the river mussel in the entire Weser water area was secured by an environmental protection construction project in Vöhl Schmittlotheim.
