Was war der erste Film, der dich tief beeindruckt hat?
Schwierige und gute Frage. Ich hab als Kind sehr viel ferngesehen. Das könnte HOOK mit Robin Williams, LABYRINTH mit David Bowie oder KÖNIG DER LÖWEN gewesen sein. Vor allem Zeichentrick war für mich immer schon magisch.
Mit welche/r/m SchauspielerIn würdest du gerne drehen und warum?
Da muss ich direkt an Jim Carrey denken. Ich studiere Animation und ich weiß, dass er leidenschaftlich gerne malt. Er ließe sich vielleicht auf ein Trickfilm Projekt ein. Generell würde ich gerne mit einem Comedian arbeiten. Meist will ich Filme entwickeln, die Spaß machen. Wenn Jemand über etwas in meinen Filmen lacht, ist das das beste Kompliment.
Wenn dein Film ein Tier wäre – welches?
Ein Krokodil in der Brunftzeit.
Was glauben deine Großeltern, was dein Job ist?
Ich denke, mein Opa glaubt ich studiere Malerei bzw. Kunst. Ich habe ihm zwar einige Male erklärt was ich mache, aber ich glaube nicht, dass er sich das gemerkt hat. Spätestens Weihnachten werde ich ihm mal meine tumblr- und vimeo-Seite zeigen.
Wenn du kein Filmemacher wärst, was wärst du dann?
Sexologin, also Paartherapeutin. Oder ich würde Produktdesign studieren.
Bist du zum ersten Mal in München? Was erwartest du von der Stadt und vom Festival?
Ich war schon ein, zwei mal dort. Sehr hübsche Stadt. Eine gute Freundin lebt dort, aber spricht oft davon, dass sie lieber hier in Kassel wäre. Ich freu mich sehr, dass mein Film Teil des FILMSCHOOLFESTs sein darf und am internationalen Wettbewerb teilnimmt… Leider kann ich nicht zum Festival kommen, da es sich mit einem anderen überschneidet.

Short Film Breaks is the only film festival taking place in private companies.
We started in 2013, with screenings over a three months period for the 1000 Ipsos employees in Bucharest and Brasov. Our first edition also had special events and Q&A with guests from the Romanian filmmaking industry like Tudor Giurgiu, Adrian Sitaru or Tom Wilson, among others. […]
In 2017 we added an online festival, i-Say Short Film Breaks, to our live screenings. The i-Say website and the i-Say Facebook page were the only places where the i-Say panel members watched the SFB films, online. We also opened our doors to a new range of films and filmmakers. From the total number of 2403 films received across all platforms, we accepted 118.

Primanima is an international festival and competition of first animations. Its co-founders launched the festival in 2012 with a goal to provide a platform for talented young animators to introduce their first films, as well as with an aim to add animation and other educational programs to the cultural life of Budaörs. Four sections compete for the awards of Primanima, student films, graduation films, first films and children’s films. In addition to the screenings animation playzone, international workshop, forums and concerts also add colour to the event. If you want to come to a festival where you can have enough fun for whole year Primanima is the right place. Come and join our animation community in Budaörs which is growing and growing by every edition.
»Räuber und Gendarm« von Florian Maubach hat seine Premiere auf dem Primanima World Festival of First Animations in Ungarn gefeiert. Im Wettbewerb waren auch »Sog« von Jonatan Schwenk und »Pink Cuts Pink« von Alma Weber.
Für »Räuber und Gendarm« geht’s dann im November beim Kasseler Dokfest und im Dezember beim Animateka 14 in Ljubljana, Slowenien weiter.

Das Kasseler Dokumentarfilm- und Videofest ist ein Film- und Medienfestival mit internationaler Ausrichtung und einem Schwerpunkt auf den neuen Medien. Gleichzeitig liegt ein besonderer Fokus auf der Förderung des regionalen Film- und Medienschaffens junger Regisseur/innen und Künstler/innen, die gleichrangig neben nationalen und internationalen Arbeiten gezeigt werden. Zu den Säulen des Festivals gehören neben dem Filmprogramm die Medienkunstausstellung „Monitoring“, die interdisziplinäre Workshop-Tagung „interfiction“, die audiovisuellen Performances in der „DokfestLounge“ sowie das filmpädagogische Begleitprogramm „junges dokfest – Dokumentarfilm sehen und verstehen“. Unter dem Begriff „DokfestEducation“ veranstaltet das Festival Veranstaltungen für den Filmnachwuchs, wie etwa die Vortragsreihe „Profis Plaudern Praxis“ oder der „Hessische Hochschulfilmtag“ sowie die Präsentation eines europäischen Verleihs und Filmfestivals.
Animateka, a week-long international festival of animated film, takes place every year in Ljubljana’s Kinodvor and Slovenska kinoteka. Beginning on the first Monday in December, it focuses primarily on the latest production of East and Central European short films. European student films and International films for children are also presented in competition programs. The festival includes a wide range of historical and thematic programs, which offer the audiences an insight into the beginnings and the development of animation, and present them with an overview of the best contemporary short and feature animated films on a worldwide scale.

In einer düsteren Endzeitlandschaft sind die Lebewesen den Naturkräften ausgeliefert. Als die Fische nach einer Flut in den Bäumen stecken bleiben, nimmt das Unheil seinen Lauf. Die Schreie der hilflosen Tiere bringen die zotteligen Höhlenbewohner von nebenan gegen sie auf. Bald liegen die Nerven blank. Aus Gleichgültigkeit wird Wut, dann Gewalt. Mit ins Absurde tendierenden Bildern erzählt diese 3D-Animation eine pointierte Parabel über den Sog der Masse und den Mut, sich ihr entgegenzustellen.

Images that stick to one another, that diverge and converge. Images that stick to your memory like a piece of gum to your shoe.
But “sticky” means more than that: Stickiness can be tough and relentless, persevering and enduring. These adjectives describe the young animation artists of this collective. There are seven of them: Ines Christine Geißer, Kirsten Carina Geißer, Evgenia Gostrer, Theresa Grysczok, Florian Maubach, Lina Walde and Alma W.Bär.
The Sticky Frames artists affect Kassel, as a meeting point in the middle of Germany and a birthplace to ideas that reflect, recreate and touch their environment. The festival invitations and awards the artists received are many. Also the list of cities and countries, they went to, to expand their network and collect new stories, that should be told.
In their work they throw light and colors on situations that might seem trivial at first glance, but which will change your perspective about them – like the relation between a cat and a garbageman or the search for happiness out of the perspective of horses.
Wherever the Sticky Frames tour of short films stops, something starts moving, something gets off the ground. But the movement of their audiences is an interior one: They’ll be glued to their chairs.
COZI Comics & Zinefest is a two-day festival showcasing comics, zines, posters and other printed art, as well as offering readings, workshops, concerts, tattoos, coffee & waffles.
COZI will take place on 14 & 15 October, parallel to Frankfurter Buchmesse in collaboration with studioNAXOS and Naxosatelier.

Ob Kurzspielfilm, Dokumentation, Animation oder Experimentalfilm – in den Filmklassen der Hochschulen in Offenbach, Darmstadt, Wiesbaden und Kassel entstehen Filme, die für Aufsehen sorgen und auf Festivals prämiiert werden. This unsettling and disturbing student animation by Jonatan Schwenk from the Offenbach Academy of Arts and Design, Kunsthochschule Kassel, employs 2D and 3D computer animation and puppets to arresting effect in a narrative that appears to take place toward the very end of creation.
